Shanghai is a large international metropolis that is a great place to visit. The city is very modern with a unique blend of cultures and a lot of glamour. As we leave the factory and head back into town, we plan our one free evening of exploration and shopping near our hotel.
A visit to Shanghai would not be complete without some (window) shopping! Just outside of our hotel is a very popular shopping street, Nanjing Road.
Fashion is everywhere with designer brand stores. Even the dogs in the city get into the fashion trends!
We ventured onto Shanghai’s metro to find their “Super Brand Mall” located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui, Shanghai. Landmarks include the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Apple Store.
Apple Store opened in July 2010. Apple reported today that it received its patent for the design of the store.
It was fun to venture out and experience the city’s metro but the rain kept us from staying out too late. We have an early morning as we head to our next stop, Guangzhou, China.
About Me:
I’m the Division Manager at HomeWorld Furniture and have spent more than 27 years in the furniture business. My work has given me the opportunity to travel exotic places such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Coppenhagen. Visiting factories, attending furniture shows, and being exposed to different cultures has been a wonderful learning experience for me. One of the toughest challenges about my job is leaving my family behind in Hawaii. Being a sports enthusiast, I especially miss my son’s baseball games. But it’s important to always stay abreast of what’s happening in the industry so that we can be the first to bring the best furniture choices and values to Hawaii.
