One of the perks of living in Hawaii (or drawbacks depending on how you look at it) is that everyone wants to visit you. Whether it’s just for the night or a longer visit, here are a few tips on how to be a perfect host for your guests to make them feel welcomed in your home.
Have great sleeping accommodations.
Even if it’s just one night, having a good night’s sleep is essential to having a great day. If you don’t have a spare bedroom, a good, comfortable sofabed can be added to the living room or office.

Simple things can leave lasting impressions. Add your favorite books along with snacks to your guest room. A little basket in the bathroom filled with guest soaps and clean towels show your thoughtfulness. Add fresh flowers from your garden to the nightstand. Write a letter to your guests and recommend your favorite places to eat, shop, and sightsee.
Think storage.

Don’t forget your guests will have luggage. Provide extra storage in the closet or dresser for clothing and miscellaneous items.

Your guests may not be on the same schedule as you especially with the time difference. Adding a table lamp to the nightstand will give them the option for late night or early morning bedside reading without having to turn on the room lights.

Let your guest recharge they cellphones while they sleep. Make sure an outlet is nearby since cellphone cords are usually quite short. Another nice touch is write your wi-fi password on a card for easy internet access.
For added convenience, we have two collections, Cambridge and Walnut Park that have built-in chargers so your guests can plug their devices directly in the nightstands.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to be a great host. A little attention to detail can go a long way.
